As of January 15, 2024, the rewards redemption portion of our program has concluded. Existing rewards should be redeemed by April 15, 2024 at 11:59 PM EST, or by the date indicated in your account. Please contact help@rewards.penguinrandomhouse.com if you have any questions.
Becoming a Member
Is there a fee to join the Penguin Random House Reader Rewards Program?
Membership in the Program is free of charge. We launched this initiative to celebrate people like you, who love to read.
How do I sign up for the Program?
Start the sign-up process by clicking here. We will ask you to share your email address, provide your name, birthday and zip code in order to enroll. We look forward to sending you a special gift on your birthday!
Who can join the Program?
The Program is open to U.S. residents who are over the age of 18 and who are not employed by Penguin Random House. Each member may enroll for a single account.
What communications will I receive after I sign up?
In addition to receiving news about books and authors from Penguin Random House, you’ll get a monthly e-mail exclusive for Program members that includes recommendations from our staff for what to read next. You will also receive emails summarizing your activity in the program.
What if I don’t want these communications?
You can opt-out of receiving general news from Penguin Random House or Reader Rewards bonus content in the Preference Center. To stop receiving Reader Rewards program emails (updates about your point totals and your rewards codes), you will need to cancel your membership and leave the Reader Rewards program entirely. See below for instructions on how to cancel your membership.
What if I forget my username or password?
You can utilize the “forgot password” link on the log-in screen to reset your password. The username is the email that you used to sign up for the program. If you’re still having trouble logging in, please contact consumerservices@penguinrandomhouse.com.
Can I cancel my membership at any time?
To cancel your membership, you can do one of two things: Click the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any Penguin Random House email footer, which will take you to the Preference Center. Here, you can view your email subscriptions and unsubscribe from any you wish or click “Close Account” and follow the prompts on-screen. Alternatively, you can simply log in to your Reader Rewards Dashboard and go to Email Preferences. Follow the on-screen prompts to either unsubscribe from any emails or click “Close Account” to cancel your membership.
Earning Points
What books are eligible for points?
The majority of Penguin Random House books are eligible for points. To ensure a book is eligible before you purchase it, check the penguinrandomhouse.com book detail page and confirm the ISBN purchased is eligible. Any ISBN that includes the “Earn Points on This Purchase!” flag on the book detail page for the format is eligible. Please note, all formats may not be eligible for a book so it is important to check the ISBN.

If you can’t find the book on penguinrandomhouse.com, that means it is not published by us and is therefore not eligible to earn points.

If a book is not eligible for points, there will be a note on the book detail page that reads “This format is not eligible to earn points towards the Reader Rewards program” or “This title is not eligible to earn points for the Reader Rewards program.”
How many points will I earn per book I buy?
Each purchase you upload is worth 10 Program points. PLEASE NOTE: you can only earn a maximum of 10 points per single ISBN (i.e., per book). You may not earn additional points by purchasing multiple copies of the same book.
Can I purchase my book at any retailer?
We will accept a valid proof of purchase from any retailer who sells firsthand books.* This retailer must be located within the 50 US states or the District of Columbia. Your proof of purchase must include: the date of purchase, retailer name, price paid, and a book title or ISBN.

*Second hand books, discounted books, and remaindered books are not eligible for point redemption. Books purchased as part of a book club are not eligible.
How do I submit my proof of purchase?
Make sure you keep your receipt! Then log in to your dashboard, click the “Enter Books” button at the top of the screen. Here you can simply upload a picture of your book’s ISBN along with a picture of your receipt.

In the case of audiobooks or ebooks (or if you can’t upload an image), you may manually enter your ISBN in Step 2: Enter Books.

If you’re having trouble locating any of these items, please look through the questions below or feel free to contact help@rewards.penguinrandomhouse.com.
Can I upload more than one receipt image at a time?
No. Currently, receipt upload is limited to one single image.

If your receipt is long, please try to take a single picture that captures store name, store number, receipt ID, date of purchase, price paid, book title and ISBN, if available.

If you have made multiple purchases at multiple stores, please upload each store receipt and the associated purchased books separately.
What is an ISBN?
ISBN stands for International Standard Book Number. It is a unique 13-digit code that is assigned to identify every book.
Where do I find the ISBN for a print book, ebook, or audiobook?
We have made locating the ISBN easier for you on https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com.
Navigate to any product page and find the ISBN next to each format type (Hardcover, Paperback, Ebook).

Alternatively, the tool tips on the page where you upload your proof of purchase includes a tool tip (look for the ?) that explains how to find the ISBN for a print book, ebook, or physical audio book.

Finding the ISBN for a downloadable audio requires a few more steps. Please do the following:

  • Go to https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com
  • Type the title of the book in the search bar
  • Navigate to the product page for that title
  • Expand the section that says “audio” next to the book cover and select “downloadable audio”
  • Scroll down the page until you get to the Product Details section. The ISBN can be found in this section.
How long does it take a proof of purchase to post to my account?
We review all submissions for validity and may reach out to you via email for further proof of purchase if necessary. Points will be posted to a Member’s account balance within 3 business day(s) of submitting proof of purchase. Business Days exclude US federal holidays and PRH office Holiday Office Closures.
Do my points expire?
As announced, starting January 15, 2024 at 11:59 PM EST, Penguin Random House’s Reader Reward program will be discontinuing points accrual and reward redemption.

What Does This Mean for You?
  • Submit your receipts in exchange for points before January 15, 2024 at 11:59 PM EST
  • If you have enough points for a reward, you will need to redeem by the date indicated on your reward notification.
  • If you have questions in regard to your account or this change, please contact us at help@rewards.penguinrandomhouse.com.
Is there a limit on the number of points I can earn?
Members are limited to earning a maximum of 720 points in a given calendar year.
Is there a time limit on my proof of purchase?
Your proof of purchase must be dated no earlier than 60 days prior to your date of submission. All proof of purchase must be submitted by January 15, 2024.
Redeeming Points
How many points do I need to earn a reward?
Once you have earned 120 points (the equivalent of uploading proof of purchase for 12 books), you will be issued a rewards code, available on both your dashboard and via email.
How do I use my rewards code?
Your rewards code can be used to redeem any eligible book(s) on penguinrandomhouse.com for free (up to a $30 value). Just log into your account, add books to your cart, and add the rewards code to the coupon field in the cart. Checkout as you normally would and the book(s) will ship to you from our warehouse.
What books are eligible for redemption on penguinrandomhouse.com?
The majority of Penguin Random House books are eligible for redemption. To ensure a book is eligible before you add it to your cart, check the penguinrandomhouse.com book detail page for the ISBN/format purchased. As long as the book detail page does not contain either of the following messages, it is eligible for redemption:

“This format is not eligible to earn points towards the Reader Rewards program.”
OR
“This title is not eligible for purchase to earn points nor for redemption with your code in the Reader Rewards program.”
My cart total is greater than $30 – can I use a credit card to cover the difference?
The rewards code must cover the entire cost of the items in your cart in order to be used, so your cart total cannot exceed $30. You cannot use a credit card to cover a balance greater than $30.
My purchase is below $30 – will I get to keep the remaining balance of the rewards code?
No, if the total amount of items in you cart is below $30, the remaining balance is forfeited.
Do I pay for shipping or tax when I order my free book?
Nope—tax and shipping are on us.
Does my rewards code expire?
Yes. The expiration date is indicated on the notification you will receive when you have earned a reward.
